You Should Try Puppylinux!

Puppylinux is a light weight, 100mb Linux OS that can be run (and run WELL) off a Live CD. I was shocked to install Puppylinux, and have it immediately recognize my dialup modem and install it, and dial it with ease. What took me two or three days to figure out on Ubuntu, took me 5 seconds to figure out on Puppylinux. Ubuntu clearly needs to get some advice from the designer of Puppylinux in this area.It comes bundled with a lot of great apps. You can literally have a fully usable OS running fro

Do You Like Your Desktop/windows Fancy, Or Simple?

I just installed my video card driver in Ubuntu (it was so easy too, why did I try to do it the hard way before??) and enabled the "Extra" graphics effects for the GNOME desktop. Wow! Wild. It looks very impressive. It's really cool how everything bounces around and changes shape. I've customized XP a lot, but never had anything like that.I'm wondering if it would drive me crazy when the new-ness wears off though. I'm not using Linux for much gaming, so the hit on

So my version of the software was pretty much the official first release of Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon in October 2007. What's the difference between Gnome and KDE? Are they basically just "themes" or is there more to it? I run KDE apps on Gnome, so I figure it must be just a different appearance. Will you buy it or stay with other, and why?I don't need to buy Windows 7 as a friend of mine is an MSDN user and burned it for me, but to everyone who wants to upgrade, I would seriously say Windows 7. It's very user-friendly and even works better with Aero on a PC that doesn't handle Vista well, it also gets a leap on the rating for me and made my GTAIV faster, much faster and I have less memory leaks overall (OS).

How To Check Your Connection Route

Ever wondered how the content from Trap17 reaches your computer. Obviously it has to go through some physical cables somewhere in the world so that every time you request some content your request will go from your home computer all the way there and all the way back.Understandably a certain amount of delay can occur in such return journey, also due to the fact that the signal has to go through several routers on its way there and the way back. As support for Vista is still poor and Windows 7 still some time away, many organization have been sticking to Windows XP for their software deployments. The way it works is buying a license for Windows Vista (and later on perhaps Windows 7) and downgrade it to XP, this is already done by computer manufacturers.
